tweetyduck
http://www.thexmod.com/item_detail.asp?id=5837 where the hell does this go and which way round? Currently one isn't fitted and i'm in the process of fitting the new flange and this seems to need to be pushed over the flange on the slightly raised part. It seems to want to go on with the open end inwards to the box. Help....
Disco-Ron
hold the mudshield over the oil seal and it'll be obvious which way round it goes......... there is a high ring on the seal, that kind of sits inside the groove in the mud shield.. Les Henson
The mudshield goes on the propshaft flange (on the diff nose), with the cup of it facing towards the seal, so that the seal is protected by it. Les.

The way i see it i actualy have to fit both of them to the flange, both the FTC4941 and the 571970. This isn't in the tech archive article on replacing the seal. As per the attached?
