Defender Temp gauge Disco 200tdi engine

i have got a Defender and i have put a disco 200tdi engine in it and the Temp gauge go s on to the edge of the red when been running for a bit is this because the disco gauge runs cooler ??????

because the Disco sender & Defender temp gauge don't work well together, ou can fit the sender fom your old engine into the Disco 200Tdi.as this worked with the existing gauge in the old engine, it should contain to work in the new engine, the sender/wiring/gauge don't know what engine they are fitted to.

this is a very common problem with this engine swap, lots of info in this forum about it.

There are apparently two different threads - so you might find your old sender won't fit in the Disco engine. Steve Parker sells new senders with both thread sizes which can be used if this is the case. I forgot to take the old sender off my engine before it got taken away, so it's on my "to do" list!

Yes, it should be possible to transfer the original temp sender on to the Tdi.
