Jon W
Been to look at a discovery I am thinking of buying. All seems ok, only gripe is the gear box is notchy, and when going for 1st your end up in reverse. Like wise trying to locate the other gears as to where they should be. So can this be adjusted relatively easily with the gearbox in situ?? Answers very much appreciated asap as need to tell the guy whether I want it or not. ches
does the gear lever self center opposite 3rd and 4th when in neutral?
Jon W
Erm not entirely sure. Reverse doesn't seem very far over to the left, like it should be, so when going for 1st you get reverse. 5th is very far over to the right, so it seems like the gates need moving over if that makes any sense?? Jon W
Have used the search function and found the answer now. Should have done to begin with really. Looks like i will be a discovery owner soon then!
Paul 200 TDI
I think you just got to get used to it, I was the same with mine at first, Sabine still is unsure about 1st or reverse. it could however be the bias plate or springs, both easy to replace
