Pudock
Some time ago I put the motor into the garage to get the head gasket done. When it came back I noticed that it was idling slightly faster but had lost a some of its engine breaking. What could cause the loss in braking ability? Does the higher idling speed have anything to do with it? Thanks
pete3000
Yes turn the idle down a bit, idle figures should be in the haynes/service book. Set it when cold though as it will be lower on cold start. May not start well in cold weather if you set it when engine is hot.
Aragorn
might even be something really simple like the throttle cable not fully releasing?
Pudock
Thanks guys, throttle cable is fine by the way. I'll adjust the screw a little tomorrow.
