Ajlorton
This one's for the Swindon area gang .... What's going on down Mill lane? Is that a new pay and play site being set up? I've driven past a few times, but never stopped to talk with them.
Les Henson
Mill Lane is also where Ridgeway 4x4 is located. I've had dealings with the owner of that place. Having said that - there's no suitable ground there for an off-road course unless it's the size of a postage stamp, just some listed farm buildings and a couple of fields, and a stream. Might be developers starting as it's in the plans for Swindon expansion. Les.
Ajlorton
That's pretty much what I thought Les. However, further down Mill lane there is definitely some 4x4 thing setting up. Maybe I should get my lazy self down there and do some investigating.
Mark Jenkins
Maybe I should get my lazy self down there and do some investigating. Yup, with Sherlock Holmes deerstalker, large magnifying glass and Peter Sellers outrageous French accent. Maybe. Let us know what you deduce, dear Watson. ciderman
A group from Bristol went up yesterday to the site in Mill Lane and were not too impressed , £20 to drive 3 flat fields with a few holes that were dug out by a JCB,
Les Henson
I know Mill Lane from one end to the other and it's all flat fields. No woods or anything. Bit boggy in places where water drains down from Old Town. Is it an old farm or something along the side of the Motorway? Les.

Ajlorton
>> £20 to drive 3 flat fields with a few holes that were dug out by a JCB Sounds a bit pants. I'm not surprised they weren't impressed.
Guest diesel_jim
Especially as you can see the Ridgeway from there, with the decent byway that goes up to the bowl! and only 20 minutes or so drive from Salisbury plain! Hey Les... i reckon i know where a lot of bullsh!t ahem, "water", might be flowing from.... I got given a car window sticker from him yesterday.... you want it? Les Henson
What does it say. 'RIPUOFF'? 'THUGS'R'US'? I could compile a whole list of very appropriate things. Les.
