iainb
Hi everyone. Finnally got the td5 running again after a fraught period of not starting. It turned aout to be dodgy Britpart fuel pump! In the diagnosis I changed the crank position sensor and all appered to go well. No shim so no shim replaced. On the Rovacom I'm getting: Fault 15-2 High speed crank (logged) Fault 19-4 Noisy crank signal (current) just occasionally. I clear the faults and engine starts, ticks over fine, no faults. When I try to rev the engine it sounds like a bag of hammers and stops. Have I missed a vital bit when swapping the sensor? or is it likely to be anything else before I delve under the Disco to change the sensor again. Thanks to you all in anticipation Iain
Billy Whizz
I had the same fault on a 06 defender changed crank sensor cleared faults problem gone
iainb
I had the same fault on a 06 defender changed crank sensor cleared faults problem gone Hi I've tried two sensors and both gave the high speed crank fault. Fault appears around 2750 revs when engine stops and check engine light comes on. Also injectors vary between -5 and +32(NO 4 Injector) on the Rovacom Iain
Escape
Have you checked the wiring? Went out to help a DII with similar symptoms, started good but no power. It turned out to be a blown fuse, probably caused by the wiring above the A/C compressor. Put a new fuse in, taped up the wires and no problem since.
