Diesel 2.5 td tdi 200 300 td5 etc. would help. Check earthing connections for intermittent fuel pump. If Carbs the idle flow is blocked or poor. oakesy
td5 diesel Check fuel first if having problem originally. Also the ECU plug for oil contamination if oil the harness will need replacing.
Les Henson
Mis-fire (not backfire) is usually the injector wiring loom. Having said that - it doesn't usually affect starting, but general performance above about 1500 revs. Les.
Gromit
temp needle when turning ignightion on up in red, also can not hear fuel pump priming. any ideas, cheers dave Check the wiring to the yellow relay (fuel pump) under the seat. IIRC, its the one to the front of the 2. Check also the blue connector that joins the 2 looms. Wiggle everything till the relay clicks, the fuel pump starts and the temp needle returns to cold.
