Trevorevans
I had to change a rear stop light earlier today and dropped the little plastic wing nut, when retrieving it I brushed my hand against the edge of the sound deadening which seemed damp so I lifted the corner and stuck my fingers under to find it absolutely sodden. Now I know I have a small leak from the front sunroof I intend to sort if I can in the summer (a dribble down the front screen in heavy rain) but can't imagine it causing this much damp. Could it be from the alpine windows? Or I'm thinking maybe from when I pressure wash the muck from underneath after playing in the mud, are there any rubber grommets/ plugs in the floor that may be perished or missing? If so where are they? I don't really go wading so it hasn't come in through the door seals but I know if I don't sort it the floor will turn to dust and knowing land rover quality it will be sooner rather than later lol. Thanks in advance.
MITCHF
Mine was the same, spilt window rubbers to rear load bay windows and alpines. Fixed them, stripped the rear to get to the floor, allowed the carpet and sound deadener to dry in the sun. OK now, get it sorted though, my floor had just started to show a few brown patches, treated it before it ate my floor.
M&S
Mine is teh same (soaked) and is under the whole floor. I reckon it's condensation as with a lot of it it is in the middle, with totally dry bits around it.

So long as the paint is in good condition then I don't see a problem with it rusting. If not give it some thick coats of anything before putting the carpets back down.
davek0974
Window seals and sunroof seals. I fitted a new floor in mine due it rust, the mat was soaked. Also seal around the fuel tank cover. I stripped the whole interior out and watched for weeks then sealed up where itwas getting in, it's a pain but I'm nearly there now, just the two rubbers on the rear side windows.
