Frax
Hi I am in the middle of changing my bulkhead on my 300tdi to one from a TD5 and have just noticed that there is not a bracket in the drivers foot well to fit the cable pull to. The bracket on the 300tdi is welded to the foot well so it cannot be removed. I have read a lot about this conversion but have never seen anything about the bonnet able pull. I know a lot of you have done this conversion so any help would be appreciated. Regards Frax
Les Brock
Could you not just drill out the spot welds (provided the 300Tdi bulkhead has had it that is ) with a proper spot weld drill bit and then bolt it in place
Dave W
Just use a TD5 bonnet release, it's a MUCH better and a more reliable system than the older version IME. You can source the lever from the bay of e and the cable is a couple of quid. The lever just bolts onto the side of the driver's footwell, the holes will already be there. Frax
If I can help it I would like to leave the 300tdi in one bit as the condition would be worth a repair and posible sell. As for the TD5 Bonnet release I have had a look on ebay but no joy - will keep looking though, is it a diferent cable ? Frax
