AdeParko
I came to remove the spare wheel from my 300tdi today, but after removing the cover I found that one of the nuts has a lock on it I asume that there is a seperate key to undo this, but didn't come with the cae when I bought it Has anyone ever removed one of these without a key or could advise the best way without destroying the wheel Thanks Ade

auf_wiedersehen_pet
Hi I don't think Niamh's suggestion will work. I think those are designed for round nuts which don't spin - yours spins. It looks like a cheapo Halfords nut. With the correct key, the centre lifts out, then the circular cover lifts off exposing the nut. I had some and they are pretty flimsy. If you don't get a better suggestion, I'd apply some force to the centre section with a hammer and old screw driver. It will soon drop out then the cover is off.
