will4x4
Hi does anyone do this In Surrey? I have a newish 12mmrope the I need joining. I have d0ne the easy bit passing it through but can't for the life of me get the ends inside the rope. I can splice my 10mm one easy but this one is tuff. Anyone fancy doing it for cash please? I'm not sure if it's because my splicing kit needle is for 10mm rope ... Although I would have thought this would make it easier. Thanks in advance
simonr
I've never used a 'splicing needle' - instead find a stick the right sort of size, 300 mm long and a bit thinner than the rope. Make a split in the end of the stick and sharpen the other end a bit. A rounded end actually works the best. Remove some of the fibres end of the rope to make the ends tapered to fit in to the split end of the stick. Bind with insulating tape. It's worth having a go at making a tool that's perfect for your rope. Si
