need4speed
Im about to start plumbing in the radiator on my 4.6 build. I have the bracket on the side of my R380 for oil-cooling. I also have the bracket on the front cover of my V8 so the engine oil can be cooled. The problem is that according to the 110 parts book both the engine-oil cooler and the gearbox-oil cooler fit in the same position. Am i reading this wrong or can i only have one or the other? TIA Phil

Dave W
It depends on the radiator, some radiators have an oil cooler at both sides, others only have one at the drivers side but I've only seen dual cooler radiators on Discos and RRs. I'd hazard a guess that the radiator engine oil cooler and gearbox oil cooler weren't used on the same vehicle. I've always fitted autos to mine so the engine uses the radiator based cooler and the auto has an additional cooler in front of the radiator somewhere.
