need4speed
Apart from looking for visible scores/grooves etc, how can I tell if the flanges on the transferbox need replacing? Would it be prudent to renew them seeing as I have it in bits?
western
if the seals are not leaking leave them in place.
need4speed
Couldnt tell you if the seals were leaking Ralph - bought the box to rebuild empty of oil.. However looking at the two flanges today i see that the rear output flange is really bad on the seal face so think ill replace that one and refit the front one. western
only if you fit it & fill it, might be best to replace both flanges & seals in your case, that should give you a fighting chance of a leak free unit.
