Daan Posted September 27, 2011 Share Posted September 27, 2011 Chaps, my parents are currently driving between Antwerp and holland while losing around 1 liter of water per 700 mile and a lot of pressure in the cooling system. Apart from filling up and try to add some anti leak stuff, there isn't much else i could suggest at te moment. Does anyone have experience with these engines throwing gaskets? I am pleased to say my father has now gone away from landrover dealers, and it will be a local garage fixing it, so any comments are welcome. BogMonster Posted October 1, 2011 Share Posted October 1, 2011 Choose your local garage carefully, as they are a pig of a thing to work on! The only TDV6 major failure I know of was a large hole in the bottom of the engine, but then at the road speeds here they don't really get worked too hard so head gaskets etc are rarely a concern on anything.
