Richard Spandit
Love it when people say: "Oh, Landrovers are aluminium, so they won't rust then..." Mine has gone pretty rusty, especially the back door so it's currently painted with red oxide paint. I'd like to touch it back up again with blue but don't know what colour to use - is it a commonly available (i.e. from Hellfrauds or similar) colour? western
depends one the paint colour & vehicles age, there are 3 or 4 different blues, have a look here probably one these marine shire arles/pacific Halfords don't do these, I've just been in my local branch. your local main dealer or independent LRparts place should have or be able to get the required colour. Thanks... problem is it's probably faded in the years since it rolled out of Solihull... What's the best thing to paint the black metal bits with, bumpers etc.? Black Hammerite smooth? western
just tidyed up my front winch bumper & rear crossmember with a wire brush/a corrosion inhibitor & Halfords black satin paint, looks much better, look for some chassis black paint, it's better than hammerite, that can come off after a while. chassis black more here Edited August 13, 2006 by western
BogMonster
Don't use Hammerite it is cr&p! I have done bumpers and a roof rack with it in the past and it fell off after a few months
