MECCANO Posted August 7, 2006 Share Posted August 7, 2006 Ok so im pondering the possibility of twin alternators, and a few quests arose. first of all running 12v system can they simply be connected in parrallel as long as both units are running. do the alternators need to be matched/ give the same rating? can a single fan belt ( old school technology style) handle the loading of two alternators or is advisable to run one on the water pump belt as normal( on a series) and use an additional belt off the crank for the other...
