matt32 Posted February 4, 2012 Share Posted February 4, 2012 Now then guys. I've got a '97, 300tdi disco. I am unable to get in any gears apart from 1st and 3rd and can't ever get the gear lever across towards 5th. I've had the rear prop off this morning to replace the rubber coupling but can't see how this could have any link with the gearbox. Also, the difflock light is showing on the dashboard and i have put the truck into diff and back out several times but can't get the light to go. Any ideas guys what could be wrong with the gearbox?? matt32 Posted February 4, 2012 Author Share Posted February 4, 2012 Got the gearbox sorted. After removing the centre console and the guarding it turned out to be a piece of metal. 1" by 1.5" that had jammed itself behind the gear lever. Not sure about the light though. sierrafery Posted February 4, 2012 Share Posted February 4, 2012 unplug the diflock switch on the transfer box front output housing's left side and see if the light goes off then...if yes check with ohmeter on the switch's terminals with difflock disengaged...if it's closed circuit the switch is faulty Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
