biggles
Need to change the rocker cover gasket on my td5 defender, there seems to be a vast differance in price from genuine land rover ones, so is it best to stick with a genuine one? Or one of the (lot) cheaper ones? Thanks
Les Henson
I would say use your old one as long as it's not damaged. Even after fitting a new gasket it's not uncommon for the cover to continue to leak. A thin smear of rtv on the old/new gasket is what I usually do. Les. NickMc
The plastic cap on the front of the engine are bad for skrinking and then weeping which would look like a rocker cover leak.
