EggNChips
Got an '03 TD4 Kalihari and I'm not convinced by the oil pressure. The light goes off when cranking, but if you stall the engine, the light comes on almost immediately. Also, with the plastic engine cover removed, no oil comes out the bolt hole at the top of the timing case as it has with other TD4's I've had. Oil and filter has just been changed again (10w/40 semi synthetic) as has the PCV filter. Took the sump off and the oil pump and Big Ends all seem fine. Anything else that could cause poor oil pressure???
FridgeFreezer
Have you tried: 1) Looking up what the pressure should be in the RAVE manual 2) Putting a pressure gauge of any sort on it to measure it? Oil pressure switches are not exactly highly calibrated devices, one that comes on "too early" is quite preferable to the traditional "too late" flavour...
