JourneyMan Posted April 16, 2012 Share Posted April 16, 2012 Hi, Does anyone have an tricks to split the Front Hub and Disc on a Classic. I've tried heating it, tapping it with a hammer. duncmc Posted April 16, 2012 Share Posted April 16, 2012 I did mine when it was stuck by fitting the hub back onto the wheel, then lying the wheel down with the wheel nuts facing up. Snagger Posted April 17, 2012 Share Posted April 17, 2012 The problem is the rust build up on the inboard section of the hub, where the disc has to pass over. You may have to periodically tap the disc back onto the hub seat in order to remove the build up of loosened rust that will try to jam the disc as it moves - a two steps forward, one step back approach.
