TheBeastie
Where does it all go to? I am having to top up significantly (5 pumps or so on OilSafe) every three or four weeks. No obvious major leak (but usual LR territory markings) so where is it going? I am stumped and want to try and sort but no idea where to start looking. Already carry engine oil and brake fluid. Perhaps I need to start carrying EP80/90 as well!! Thanks Malcolm
CwazyWabbit
Is it leaking from the output seals and being flung about so you don't see it? Would tend to leak out while driving then. The main points that I've seen leak are :- Both output seals Input seal Intermediate shaft O-ring (can be hard to see) Inspection plate My bet would be output seals though, do you do a lot of motorway driving? That might explain why you don't see much of the leaks I'm sure some adult will pass by soon with more useful info than mine.
Retroanaconda
Classic sign of leaks while on the move at speed are spots of oil all up the back of the vehicle. My 90's rear door and spare tyre used to be covered with spots of EP90 after a motorway run, fixing the output seal leaks solved that. If there's a drip, it's leaking. Sounds obvious I know, but fix all the drips and you won't lose any oil!
