andy2986
Hi All, Well, I've gone diesel as my V8 has rather spectacularly blown up the other week. And this is the first of what I'm sure will be many questions. There is, what would appear to be, a small electric vacuum pump behind the N/S headlamp (where the second battery would sit.) It has 1. A pipe to the air box 2. A pipe to the EGR valve (EGR soon to be removed) 3. A pipe to a brake servo hose What does it do? And is it needed? It looks like the cruise control pump on my V8 but I don't have cruise on the 300tdi Thanks in advance Andy

Maverik
Its part of the EGR system, you don;t need it. I'm just about to take it out of one of mine.
andy2986
Thanks, do you know what the pipe that goes to the brake vacuum pipe is doing? i guess I would just blank it off at the servo hose?
