LR NUT
Just started hearing an electrical whinning noise (best way to descibe it) when the car is turned off. Moslty when engine has been warm. Its a mix between a slight whine and buzzing noise last about 7 seconds and always fades out. It is like something is settling down in the engine. Had the hippo from new td4 £30k on clock now, no FBH fitted. Never had this before..... thanks in advance
EggNChips
It's something to do with the ABS pump, all my Freelanders have done it, although not entirely sure why.
RJF
Mine does this. A Buzz that fades away. I think my noise is coming from around the EGR valve. Rob.
defv890
Hi It's your throttle body at the front of the engine near the radiator it's driven by a dc motor that's why it makes that noise ( throttle body is used to create a vacume for the egr system to flow )
EggNChips
Hi It's your throttle body at the front of the engine near the radiator it's driven by a dc motor that's why it makes that noise ( throttle body is used to create a vacume for the egr system to flow ) It's a TD4 so therefore doesn't have a throttle body. The Vacum pump on a diesel creates the vacum for the EGR and Turbo actuator, etc.
LR NUT
Hi guys thanks for the input I have an egr bypass fitted. Is this still normal? Like I said never heard it before and have had the bypass fitted 9 months ago.
