TobyMellin Posted November 6, 2012 Share Posted November 6, 2012 I was driving the Disco today, and a few minutes after running, the lights started dimming and then coming back on full (did this a few times) and at the same time the engine was dying and coming back on, it didn't die all together, and a 10 seconds later everything was fine. So I carried on driving and after about 15 minutes it started again! But this time the car died all together, and the car wouldn't start, the battery was flat! During these moments of flickering, the speedo was all over the place! I've recently replaced the transfer box and didn't have these problems before. Is the battery/alternator nackered? western Posted November 6, 2012 Share Posted November 6, 2012 check for any trapped wires that might be a result of the recent work, also check the earth cables are present & correct, might be worth having the alternator bench tested,.
