Dazza069 Posted January 7, 2013 Share Posted January 7, 2013 Just had low compresion fuel pump done on my td5 and now it will run on tick over fine but when try and drive it get about 100 metres then engine cuts out like it drawing air in. takes a while to get it going again but then on tick over is fine but drive it and it happens again any ideas please help thanks Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Tanuki Posted January 8, 2013 Share Posted January 8, 2013 Repeat the "fuel system purge" process a few times. If after this you can hear any gurgling/swooshing/whining noises from the fuel-pump/tank area when it cuts out then get the injector copper-washers replaced: if these are failing they'll let combustion gases into the fuel-system and give exactly the cutting-out symptoms you describe. --Tanuki.
