RedLineMike Posted May 14, 2013 Share Posted May 14, 2013 as above im looking for some recomendations for a battery for starting & running the 12v system on my Td5 challenge truck, i currently have an 072 600CCA 73Ah battery fitted but due to the ongoing mods for King of the Valleys i now have a space which is only 230mm wide x 175mm x 175mm , any suggestions on which battery i should go for? ideally i would like to mount the battery on its side if possible as it will keep the terminals away from the bonnet, I have looked at the Odyssey extreme 30/35/40 & the Odyssey Pc545 but havent been able to decide which would be the best to go for any suggestions welcome Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Aragorn Posted May 15, 2013 Share Posted May 15, 2013 Looking at your dimensions, you'd just about fit a standard 063 battery. The extreme 30/40 wont fit into your space going by the listed dimensions, and the 35 is significantly weaker than an 063. Similarly, the 545 is weaker than an 063. An 063 might struggle to start a big diesel though (but that in turn means the odysseys will also struggle, as they're less powerful) Ofcourse, that all depends if you can get away with using a proper lead acid battery, or need a gel type? Some of the bigger odesseys might work, like the PC925 or PC1200, but they're likely very expensive vs 40quid for an 063! Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
