Am I being thick or is it acceptable to splice into the 12V feed to the power socket in the boot to supply the towing electrics loom? No I won't be using skotch loks..... The instructions seem to say (step 21 on the attached) that if you do have a 12V socket in the boot then you have to run a wire to the battery - major pain in the posterior. If you don't have a 12V socket then you just use the loose connector that is already there that is not occupied by the absent 12V socket - nice and easy. I presume this is to ensure you cannot overload the circuit by using the towing electrics and the 12V socket at the same time? Seems a bit OTT to me but I stand to be corrected by a grown up!
