Linoge
Simple question: Will the LT77 from a 2.5 turbo diesel fit on a 2.25 petrol engine without any major modifications / additional part purchases? More complicated question: What could cause a 1985 LT77 behind a 2.25 petrol engine to suddenly (as in "on the trailer from point A to point B") decide that the gear shifter is only allowed to go fore-aft, and not engage any gears in the process? It's not the grub screw - I checked - the clutch seems fine, and neither I nor the mechanic currently considering the situation can get the gears to so much as grind. western
same gearbox was factory fitted on all the 4 cylinder engines but not 300tdi, so no reason why a 90/110 LT77 won't fit a earlier engine.
Linoge
Thanks! Both the donor and recipient vehicles are D90s; just wanted to make sure they did not do anything funky for diesel vs. petrol engines.
