Nigelw
The viscous fan if solid should be replaced with a new part, you say you have replaced it already, my question is with a brand new one or a S/H item? A brand new one that is faulty needs returned to the store and exchanged, they are not serviceable items. It is unlikely that you would buy a defective new unit but it is not unheard of! Spearos
How solid is solid?! Don't expect a correctly operating fan to have no resistance what-so-ever when cold. Personally I would say your cold temp gauge and bad poor fuel consumption is to do with something else... possibly...
Nigelw
Was thinking this over whilst shopping and thought exactly the same thing, remove fan and being in winter you won't need and see what the consumption is and see if it warms up a bit more too. Bowie69
No power and high consumption points to much much more than just a potentially seized viscous fan...
