Frogland
sorry if this sounds dumb,I live at the bottom of 20 degree concrete slope that runs over a distance of about 25 meters,I'm at present very interested in 300tdi auto, will it struggle up the the slope on cold mornings? Thanks .
PaulN
Mine is a bit more sluggish than when warm - I just give more welly no probs - but you can always use lo range!
Frogland
Thanks for the quick reply, can i just use 1, 2 or 3 instead of drive ?
PaulN
At that speed and gradient you'll be in 1 anyway - but to lock it there yes - I sometimes shift to 3, 2, 1 for engine breaking to a junction down a steep gradient as well...... SPendrey
I would be more concerned about doing it in reverse... very poor performance when trying to reverse up a slope when cold. As mentioned, using low range will help a lot!
