Madcowz
My G reg One Ten's clutch has started slipping in high gear. It's rock solid and doesn't slip in lower gears. Before I book it in to have a new clutch and my wallet emptied, is there anything I should look at first? I've also read that I should request a 130 clutch is fitted
cookie64
out of interest what is it that makes you think that your clutch is slipping? apart from that very unwelcome smell of burning clutch or gaining alot of revs quickly without any speed gain i dont know how to tell if its slipping thanks tom,
Tanuki
Make sure your clutch-pedal has proper free-play: you should be able to get hold of the pedal and pull it up about 1/4 inch of slack. I've known the pedal to bind on the pivot if lubrication duty's been neglected - this will stop the clutch releasing fully and can cause it to slip under load. Madcowz
Tom, it's the later. Foot to the floor, revs increasing and no speed gain.@Tanuki, thanks I will have a look tomorrow.
