reggie
While giving the misses 54 plate TD4 a look over the other day, checking oil etc I noticed the the auxiliary drive belt has splits in it. I've never seen one before but guessing it shouldn't have any splits in it like that even though they do look quite uniform. See photo. I asked a mate who works at Land Rover if he would do it for me, answer was "bitch of a job, needs two people & a 4 poster ramp" I guess that was a no! Is it really that bad of a job? dirtydiesel
You can do them on your own, just! It's easier with 2 people, one to hold the tensioner and one to fit the belt. And if someone has been there before and rounded off the nut on tensioner.......you will struggle.
reggie
So what about the belt, does that look normal or need replacing as I suspect?
EggNChips
Definitely needs replaced, It shouldn't have those cracks in it.
