Ex Member
Why did you not use my suggested approach?
dioliahary
Hi wasnt sure if that also would earth out via the relay coil and light up? Could splice in tonignt to see, have you done it this way?
dioliahary
Update, took the voltage to the first relay coil from the shut off solenoid supply, works fine just on when ign on, however being leds they dont take much current. I would ssy though they are bloody bright.
gerrymc123
I've ordered a set of DRL's for the TD5 Defender complete with a wiring harness which takes care of everything road legal, ie. rather than switching off the DRL's to comply with regulations it allows them to stay on but reduces their brightness when headlights are used. Wiring sounds pretty straight forward with the only awkward bit finding an easily accessed ignition positive not monitored by ECU warning closely enough to register a voltage drop, my thoughts are the alternator is my best bet, any handier ideas?
