Hi all, just a quick question,

when did land rover put the 200tdi into the range rover? I have just won a rr200tdi on fleebay, but he did not have a year on the add. He has just got back to me and said its a 1990. I was thinking that land rover put it in in 1992!

Can someone clear this up for me.

Many thanks Carl

The press launch fleet where registered on a K reg. 92 I think.

1990 would have been the VM.

Correct. I have a K reg 200tdi factory fit from January 1993.

Yours may have had the vm swapped out for a tdi.

Is it defo got a 200 ? Load some pics for us.....?

ok, it seems we are getting somewhere. he is now saying the engine was fitted in 2006 by Stables 4x4. it's an auto, so I would think its a v8 conversion. I still think I am going to buy it. 110000 miles on the clock, long tax and 10 months mot. £1175.

Thanks for your help. Carl

Stables did a Tdi conversion on my mate's old Classic way before he bought it. Had Stables stickers on the panels.

I'd be interested to hear how the 200 performs behind an auto box.....

Check for rot in all the usual places.......then check again. Use a screwdriver if allowed. They can rot to bits. I've done heaps of welding on mine - taught myself = a lot cheaper!

You are not wrong! I spent 6 months last year welding up my lse. New sills, A posts B posts boot floor rear x member inner arches front and back. I have had 9 rrc's in the past. My day today car is a Disco 2 td5 metropolis, but i like the rrc's. I will report back after I pick it up on saterday.

You must be a pro welder by now. YRM and Easy on Panels (Froggats) are a good source of repair panels.

I replaced my steel boot floor with an earlier Ali one. It looks a treat now. Bought a repair kit for the sides and supports from AAL Services in Poole on ebay. Great little kit that was.

Next job is a repair to rear wheelarch/sill area. Easy On do a great little repair panel for this area.

Paddocks and others now also selling new complete inner rear wheel arches.

Its great to see lots of places doing these repair panels now........
