bernie
I've just fitted a set of mobile storage systems internal window guards to my 1994 CSW defender. Did anyone else have trouble fitting them as I have had to cut the facia paneling which goes around the window, I had to cut the paneling where the window guards are bolted to allow paneling to get flush with body work. mmgemini
Which guards, the side window or the rear windows ? Unless the side guards have been changed, or the trim changed they should fit. My Defender was used for the prototype of the side guards. I spent time making sure that once the guards were fitted, the trim fitted easily over the guards. My comment at the time to Nigel was " They have to fit perfect around the trim as some people will only want them for show " The trim panels are now off to give me more stacking room in the rear, If I remember I'll dig one out and see what's what. bernie
It was the side windows, I might have put brackets on wrong way round, as I found that the easiest way of fitting brackets as they wouldn't fit the way round that they were meant to go, for whatever reason. The vehicle is a factory fitted station wagon, so is not a case that it's been modified with wrong parts. I did find that I had to drill new holes for mounts at bottom as there was only one excisting place to bolt the bracket and that didn't line up either. I still have to do the right hand window yet so maybe that will work out better,
mmgemini
Yes you will have to drill a couple of holes. IIRC the brackets are easily re-shaped to allow a good fit.
