nathan Posted October 20, 2006 Share Posted October 20, 2006 picture Noticed today that my steering wheel on Disco 1 can be pulled towards me and then pushed back toward the cowling again, its non adjustable by the way. I looked at the shaft in the engine bay tonight as SWMBO pushed and pulled and she looked as I did the same. The only place we could see any movement was in the rubber section of the shaft near its connection to the steering box, ive tried to show it in the picture. Are there any other joints inside the car I need to look at or does this rubber sound right as the problem? Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
LR90 Posted October 20, 2006 Share Posted October 20, 2006 How much movement? That you can see it moving at the rubber is good as it indicates nothing has come apart. I suspect a broken or warn thrust washer in the column assembly. Doesn't sound too serious and a look at the parts book might proide a clue as to which bit may be suspect. PS Does it have an airbag?
