EEZIRYDER
I'm scratching my head over a problem with my fuel solenoid. A couple of weeks ago my car died(fuel starvation) I rang the AA and as Sod's law dictates it started and run perfectly when he arrived. We faffed about a bit to try and recreate the fault but couldn't. I think it may be mud or water in a relay because it has done some serious off-roading previously but I'm not sure where the relay is. The Haynes manual says its a white wire that goes back to the engine control module. Mines a black wire and where is the engine control module? 95 disco 1 300tdi would love some advice
lyron
at the rear of the injection pump you will find the selonoid. / fuel shut off. check that is operating correctly. we had a similar problem and ended up just swapping thje shut off. worth a try. ron. EEZIRYDER
Thanks for the reply Ron. I wired the solenoid direct to battery and it works perfectly, convinced it's a relay or the engine control module
BogMonster
Does the car have a one button alarm or two button alarm? If it is a two button (= 1996MY) check out The Definitive Alarm Spider post in the tech archive on here http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=
EEZIRYDER
It's a 2 button alarm and this certainly sounds like the offender! Absolute gold dust that post. Thank you
