henk
Hi Bought an almost new td5 chassis at Sod to make an off-roader. I want to get it galvanized later on but what should I add/remove/reinforce to accept roll-cage and front+rear winches? Pictures are much appreciated Henk
white90
decent rear crossmember north offroad make them to accept winches and could supply and or fit roll cage mounts to a bare chassis before it is galvanized
Guest diesel_jim
Having had my 300Tdi chassis galv'd, i reccomend thinking about what you might want to weld to it, then doing it. then thinking AGAIN, and doing the "extra" bits you forgot, then "build" your vehicle up with body panels/cage etc, and finally add the extra bits that you thought that you hadn't forgotten!!! then, maybe then, get it galvanised..... I made the mistake of only welding a brace plate where my NATO hitch bolted, and leaving it as that, as a result i had to get a "bolt" on SD cage instead of weld on, and various other little bits i wish i'd have done beforehand.
