oneandtwo
My 110 salisbury axle pinion is tight to turn by hand, and feels a little notchy. The axle casing is in perfect condition in original paint. I do have another axle which is very low miles, feels nice and smooth and very little backlash, but it is very rusty - every single bracket on the axle has disintegrated. I've read through various guides on working on the salisbury diff. I am contemplating attempting to swap the entire diff assembly from the rotten axle into the good casing, any thoughts on this? Thanks!
ejparrott
The pinion is tight to turn, the spec is avaliable if you want to check it.I've swapped a diff. It's time consuming to get it right, but if you're happy working with shims and bearings it's a piece of cake. If you're not, then don't bother.
