fitting a penhard rod from a tdci on an early axle

hi all iv just found a penhard rod from a tdci defender and the bushes are on the way out on my 200tdi . the 200 has a bend in it and the tdci is straight my mate recons all you need to do is make bigger holes fore the bigger bolts and it will fit .has anybody done this and are there any problems ? PS I also have the other and that bolts to the steering box and chassis .

Bigger holes in what?

The Panhard rod has bushes in it, if you modify the axle you'll always have to fit a TDCI rod, sounds like a good way o get yourself right in a mess. Just change the bushes in the genuine rod.
