GW8IZR
So having successfully fitted a '96 era Discovery wiper motor to the back door of my 90 I now need a wiper arm.. Before I get creative with the old Discovery arm is there a standard arm that will fit, maybe from a later Defender?
Orgasmic Farmer
I think getting creative is the way to go. I used a Rear wiper motor and arm from a Subaru Justy on mine. Can't remember if I had to shorten the arm or just used a 12" blade, but whatever, it works better than the original.
GW8IZR
I cant make my mind up if the current defender arm will work but for now I'll make a bending jig tomorrow - if I get chance! If I shorten the old arm it can sweep 90 degrees up to vertical which looks like it will work out.
GW8IZR
so just to close this off, yes it fits and works, turn the Discovery bracket round and use a couple of nutserts - for the arm, bending the old Discovery arm is simple enough. I reckon the sweep area is better than the original motor / arm so a free upgrade from my donor Discovery ;-) Not finished the cover but its near enough to see how it works out....
