jrap
Looking at fuses for a lights problem, we saw that fuse number 7 (fuse box cover diagram says it's for the ABS system) is missing. We get no warning lights staying on the dashboard when the engine is running, which the dealer says shows there's no problem. Would this model Defender TD5 have ABS and need a fuse? The car is a V reg, 1999.
simonr
It's unlikely to have ABS. As far as I know, it was first available in 2000 on the X-Tech special editions then as an additional cost item from 2002. Do you have something that looks a bit like this in your engine bay?: If not - you don't have ABS! Si
jrap
Thanks for the information. I don't have the car at my location right now, but I'll check out the engine bay when it comes back. John.

jrap
Hello Simon, Looks like we don't have ABS. The attached picture shows a large gap in the engine bay compared to yours! Looks like the fuse position was put there in case the ABS option was purchased. Many thanks. John.
