western
Why not just swap the PAS pump & pipes from old Tdi to 'new' Tdi. ?
Cornish Rattler
Why not just swap the PAS pump & pipes from old Tdi to 'new' Tdi. ? I have tried everything swaps over but the Disco double pulley won't fit the boss as the defender boss is bigger than the inside of the double pulley and the bolt holes for fixing the pulley in place are slightly different configuration

western
by double pulley you mean the pulley on the crankshaft or the pulley on the PAS pump. AFAIK all PAS pump pulleies are single Vee belt groove. crank pulleys are either 2 or 3 groove depending on PAS or AC fitted or not.

It's the power steer pump pulley it has two vee grooves one large and one small not sure which one but think the larger one drives the aternator
western
like this one http://www.lrisolutions.co.uk/index.php/genuine-land-rover-discovery-1-200tdi-power-steering-pump-pulley-etc7518.html I don't know if Discovery PAS pipes will fit a Defender steering box or pump, but 6 bolt & 4 bolt steering boxes share the same end fittings/threads, I swapped a 6 bolt to 4 bolt on my 110 a few years ago, rear groove drives the Alternator on a Disco 200tdi as shown below.
