dave88sw
Hi, I'm having trouble with the rear shock bushes on my discovery. I've fitted a brand new pair of boge shocks, fitted the washers and bushes that came with them (so in order, shock body-washer-bush-axle bracket-bush-washer-nut). however, with the nut tightened to the end of its thread, the bushes are not tight against the axle and have a load of movement. I have the genuine parts catalogue which shows an extra pair of washers (so shock body-washer-bush-washer-axle-washer-bush-nut). I guess i'm missing these washers? Strange thing is, it had a set of poly bushes in it when i bought it and they were tight in there and the axle has a cup either side of the bracket to take the bushes. Any help would be appreciated. It's a 96 V8 if it makes a difference.
dave88sw
I might have answered my own question, i assumed the shock bushes fitted with the dished side into the cup on the axle, however, having looked in the tech archive and found this: http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=44704 It would appear they go the other way up.
