88inchthing
Hi I am currently on the look out for an engine to put in my hybrid offroader. I have been offered an Iveco 2.5 NAD at a good price. Does anyone know what they are like as far as reliability and perfomance goes? Bill
western
not sure about the n/a version but the turbo version was once offered as a retro-fit for 90/110, IIRC Frank Elson [of LRM] had one fitted to his 110SW. they are a good engine AFAIK. bushwhacker
Hi my 83 RR has a 2.5nad Iveco in it. I did not do the conversion, bought it that way. It has never let me down stick a battery in it and away she goes BTW that is the only time she sees a spanner. She just gets a bit of light off roading and has been doing that for about 3 1/2 years. She has even sat for winter months outside and started second turn of the key, I kid you not. It pulls well feels abit livelier than my 2.5nad 110 . If you know where your engine is from it should be ok. I still need to nail mine down as to which one it is to get new belts and filters. Good Luck
bluespanner
I cant speak for the engine in a L/R application but in my Iveco 35.10 and 49.10 which have the 2.8 turbo and 2.5 turbo respectively, the engines are gutsy and totally reliable. The 2.5 NA is basically the same engine as my two.
