reb78
I changed the injectors on my 200tdi recently. Swapped the old ones out for reconned ones. It's been. Bit lumpy starting as detailed here: http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=86157 But, when running, the performance is definitely improved. Much better acceleration. Only thing is, since doing them, it has felt like it vibrates a little more when accelerating through 2000rpm. Could an injector change cause anything like this? The vibration is through the vehicle, not really the steering wheel.
Team Idris
Re-con isn't new, so who knows what they are like inside. Have you still got one odd one fitted? They are better/happier in 'sets'.
reb78
I swapped the whole lot for the recon ones. (The text above should read 'it's been a bit lumpy when starting....' Blooming big fingers on the ipad!)
Team Idris
I thought perhaps you still had the odd one in, that you mentioned in the other thread.
reb78
Nope. Changed all four. I think it was Maverick in the other thread that put an old one back in his truck to solve a similar problem. I am wondering if the better acceleration/more responsive engine could highlight possible problems with the engine mount rubber, thus vibration? The old injectors were 'lazier' thus may not have been so harsh on the rubber mounts?
vulcan bomber
Cant think of a reason to get a vibration, but has your MPG improved?
reb78
Cant think of a reason to get a vibration, but has your MPG improved? It goes faster Dave, so this might have destroyed any apparent mpg gains! If I'm being serious though, I think the mpg has gone up a little. Team Idris
"better acceleration/more responsive engine could highlight possible problems with the engine mount rubber, thus vibration?" Sounds totally fair to me. New rear springs gave my S1 a low speed vibe. I can't figure that one either
