Job done!
One of the terminals on the back of th bulb holder was touching the metal body of the spot light causing a short.
Taped the terminal and the back of the spot light body up with insulation tape.
I've fitted a pair of 100w spots to my 110.
They are wired through a relay, via the high beam switch,.Power being picked up direct from the battery with an 30a in line fuse.
Problem is when I switch them on the in line fuse blows.I unbolted the lights from the bumper and rested them on a piece of wood to isolate the light body,( thought it was earthing out through the lamp body).and they worked.ie did'nt blow the fuse.
attached them back up to the bumper, made sure the only part of the lamp touching the bumper was the clamp.......Fuse blew.Grrrrrrr.
So......Now I'm stumped,any ideas guys.
Cheers Marc.
I've had Ashcroft lockers fitted for over a year now.I have to say they are brilliant.
Lock or unlock in a second with the push of a button.I've used them hard, without any issues.
Ashcroft service is second to none,so no wories when they do break.
I had mine built into the diff's by Ascrofts and shipped to me ready built up.Fitting was no big problem.
Another plus for air lockers is you get a compressor, useful for pumping tyres up,etc.
Studded tyres are illegal on public roads in the UK.Even winter tyres are'nt going to be much use on sheet ice.
So the only other and best alternative,IMO,is snow chains.
They are a PITA to put on and take off,but will stop you skidding on sheet ice/pollished snow.
Hi,my 2003 Td5 auto, has dropped all the oil out of the gearbox (I think),it wont drive in any gear forward or reverse,I've had it trailored to the main dealer for them to look at it on Monday.I was just wondering if any of you guys could tell me what to expect,am I looking at a new gearbox or could it be an oil pipe,or perhaps something else.
Thanks for any advice.
Marc.
