  1. hi :)

having found that my chassis has a few more holes than it should :( , i have 2 questions 1, is there any wiring in the chassis (in case when i come to weld it)

2,if i was to get another chassis how hard is it to change ie can the body be lifted off whole ( i have access to a telehandler)

    its a m reg 300tdi

  2. No I'm not trying to break into anything.

I just went back out to my 97 disco to stick a pump in the back, key fob did its job and all the locks popped up but when I got hold of the rear door handle instead of the normal clunk, it just moved a bit as though it was still locked.

I climbed in through the back door and tried to see if anything was jaming in the inside or if it would open using the internal lever but no joy at all. I've tried locking and unlocking with the fob again and just with the key but with same result.

Is there something I'm missing or am I going to have to strip things apart from the inside and repair something?

Ah the joys of landy ownership.

    hi

pop the lr badge out from the door handle and give it a good dose of wd 40 or something along those line, also push the door at the same time as pulling on the lever this worked on mine

    hope it gets sorted Roy

  3. Hi guys, considering breaking up my 1995 3 door 300tdi disco for spares, mechanically its really good but it needs work on the sills and boot floor and repairs around the alpine windows are needed as its going into holes round the windows, will need a cambelt kit soon as thats coming up and i have a feeling the clutch may need replacing soon as the thrust bearing is noisey, its had a lot of work done but im just not sure its worth continuing with so what i would like to know is if i break it up what sort of money i could expect to get back from parts, its done 155k now but engine is still good and pulls well, gearbox is good apart from the usual crunch into second if you change too fast, rear axle has been overhauled within the last few thousand miles with new (all genuine landrover unless stated otherwise) stub axles, all seals, gaskets, bearmach hubs, timken wheel bearings, mintex discs and pads, front axle overhauled approx 250 miles ago with new (all genuine unless otherwise stated) stub axles, bearings, seals, gaskets, swivels, cv joints, timken swivel bearings, tinken wheel bearings, mintex discs and pads, had a full bosal exhaust 500 miles ago and the downpipe was replaced for a decat downpipe with flexi at the same time, battery and alternator where also replaced 250 miles ago, front springs and shocks replaced for genuine landrover items at the same time, fitted with a set of disco es freestyle alloys which are immaculate with new genuine wheel nuts and locking nuts and 4 new bfg all terrain tyres 200 miles ago, spare wheel has a road tyre on it

    hi

what price would you sell (or if you want to sell them) your set of wheels for and any idea of courier costs to staffordshire

    thanks Roy

  4. As said rear quarters are bolted & glued as one piece, depending how bad it is, could be repaired, pics would be good but ali is not the easiest to repair, good luck with it though

  5. hi :)

been to wales at the weekend ( wish i never went now lol )

any way cut a long story short i reversed between our caravan and a tree i failed to notice a 6" branch :blush: , and as a result my rear corner on the passenger side ( light part only is now well creased. plus a slight bulge on the side panel at the joint easy repair) is now well creased.

Q1.so can the corner piece only be replaced or is it all one piece

Q2. how easy will it be , is it bolted.welded or glued or all of them

Q3. how much will i pay for another panel second hand of coarse

does anyone have instuctions or photo's on removing these panels

    thanks Roy
