  1. There is another make ciclone or something & have they are surpossed to be good but how true it is i'm unsure as the turbo (if fitted) will do the same job Looking at the pic i'm very sure you could make one from something like a coke can if you wanted to see if it works
  2. Thanks very much for that will see if I can get this pink anti-freeze
  3. As i've only had the disco V8 for a couple of weeks i'm now slowly going through things & because of the cold weather (some nice hard frosts) i'm wanting to change the anti-freeze/coolant so I know it's at full strength. Apart from putting the heater onto hot is there any other bleeding of the coolant system on the 4L V8 ? I noticed a bleed plug on the top rad hose & wasn't sure if it really needed undoing as I would hate to end up with a leak from here & have to get a new pipe
  4. Will be prob going for 255/70R16's but was wondering if 265/70R16's would fit ok with out catching
  5. Well managed to find out what the prob was with the tweeter, it was dead so stripped down an old set of Kenwood 2 way speakers & have fitted them in place of the factory tweeters & replaced the front door speakers with a set of 6" 2way JBL's & the sound if now fantastic at the front end
  6. I was wondering is anyone had any pic's or ideas where to mount a CB in a D2. I'm not really a big fan of cutting my interior up which I would have to to fit the CB into the drivers side map pocket above the visor I'm after a sort of factory look if I can & have a new ex speaker so blocking the standard speaker is not a prob for me
  7. Hi Guy's just wondering if you could give me a few pointer please I'm wanting to remove the 6&7 seats from the boot as I won't ever use them & was wondering how you get them out as i'll be fitting my sound system in place of these seats & some extra storage. I was also wondering how you remove the front A pillar trim (drivers side)as the tweeter isn't working so need to find out if it's the wiring or if the tweeter has blown
  8. Thanks alot guys as that gives me something to ponder over
  9. Thanks BogMonster that helps What i'm really after with the disco is a happy balance between on/off road as it's my daily drive
  10. Well we're going to replace the road tyres on our D2 V8 auto prob for some Grabber AT2's. At the min the tyres are 255/65R16 & would like to fit slightly larger tyres for a bit more ground clearance with out affecting the gearing to much & hopefully gain me a bit more MPG. Would rather not have to start trimming stuff just yet I do some green laning & sadly quiet a bit road
  11. Didn't know you were on here M8 me to as it's doing my head in at the min
  12. On my way home from the hospital I heard a bleep & the 3 Amigo's came on now I know I need a new brake fluid level sensor as the warning light keeps flashing when it's plugged in & was wondering if this could have caused the lights to come on some how I'm going to check the wheel bearings for play (just been through an MOT) would unplugging the ABS sensors & cleaning the contacts be worth while ? is there any thing else I should be checking ? The lights have just came on the once & i've had the disco out quiet a bit today with out it happening again. Also I was wondering if anyone lived in the Newcastle that could poss read & clear the codes for me for a few beer tokens instead of me having to sell a kidney to get the main stealers to do it Many thanks & sorry for all the Q's i've been asking lately just want to get it sorted out before I start playing with it
  13. Right i've now tracked the prob down to the brake fluid level sensor due to when it's unplugged there is no flashing light
  14. Thanks very much got quiet a bit of water coming in so will do both ideas
  15. Hi guy's after the rian last night the boot of my D2 is a bit wet I had a look & the water droplets are down the rear post on the inside where the door shuts, so had a look at the safari window seals & the N/S 1 has a couple of small splits in it at the top so i'm guessing this could be the cause if it is whats the best way to seal it up? a drop of black silicon around the window ? Is there any where else that'll leak apart from the sunroofs as i've also noticed the front sunroof is leaking a touch so have cleaned all the muck off the seal (looks like it's never been done) to see if that help before I go replacing it.
  16. Thanks had been wondering if it could be that or the hand brake switch, so will check the switch 1st (when I find how to get to it) & if not that i'll try unplugging the brake fluid level sensor to see if that does anything
  17. Hi guys, i could do with a bit of help please. Just picked up my 1st LR a nice D2 V8 auto & on the way home noticed that the hand brake, brake fluid light keeps flashing on & off. I will even come on if the door is shut hard when parked up. Checked the brake fluid level & it's at the top Only thing I can think of is a poss broken brake pad warning censor wire, anyone got any ideas. Many thanks Neil
  18. Well I bought the disco I was looking at so get ready for loads of Q's as from wednesday I will be a first time LR owner
  19. TBH those screw clips can be a right pain to remove once they have been in for a while
  20. Hi guy's, I was wondering if you could give me some pointers on what to look out for when buying a D2 V8. I have seen a nice tidy looking one with 70K on the clock & it has full history I noticed it had a bit of an oil leak ( I know they leak) at the front of the engine 7 wondered what it could poss be as I could'nt spot the source whist looking, it was coming from below the rocker covers but they were dry. The other thing I noticed was that there was a slushing sound coming from the G/box when it was started up & I heard it again on test drive & the kick down took about 1.5-2 sec's to work. Is there any thing I should be looking at as I don't want to buy a dog, oh it's a 2000 W plate advitised as a 4L but not sure if it could infact be a 3.9L Last thing whats the MPG like on petrol would be happy with 14-18mpg if thats poss as I won't be flooring it all the time (will prob in 1st week lol) & it'll be doing mixed trips some short some longer
  21. Could I ask what MPG peeps get petrol wise as i'm looking at poss getting a V8 as there are alot more on the market being auto boxed which I need very badly due to health probs. I will be taking things a bit slower if I do get a nice big V instead of flooring it all the time Sorry to high jack the thread
  22. Sorry I don't know the answers to your Q's but get the air con drained before you even think about disconecting any of the pipe work as the gas/fluid can/will kill you
  23. Thanks again Yeah know the price of the hub bearings so will knock down the price for that but the main worry was the water leak but will have another look at it on Monday to see if I can find it before thinking of buying it
  24. Ok thanks it's for sale at a garage near me & thought if it's just a simple job then I can knock the price down on the motor a bit more as I noticed some oil/grease on the o/s/f hub which at a guess could be the wheel bearing on it's last legs & hopefully can get a few hundred knocked off for that
