  1. all of a sudden started the car and when drove off is like I'm pressing pedal all the way but rpm barely crosses 1.5..and when i went to shift the stick was getting stuck and a terrible smell came out... so apparently is the clutch…i will have to get a new kit.. any input? also for 110 2010…clutch kit comes only the disc and cover and they said i have to get the bearing separate as they are built in the car, so ill get the clutch slave cylinder…thats what the guy at rimmerbros mentioned, and will get all genuine parts.. please and info on the parts so i don't get something wrong, especially with the ripper shipping to my country really learning new patience levels with the car
  2. great posts here…i drove it only 400 kilos to a desert area... but soon hopefully i can drive it from Egypt to Ethiopia, thats the plan
  3. i need to find where i can get the genuine one as the one in the dealer here is too expensive.. im considering the OME sd32 damper…heard good things about it, is there anything also recommended to buy with the shipment that can make the car more stable on the road?

  5. yes for sure not trying to compete, but i thought its more than the current..good to know that its like this anyways so i wouldn't keep getting confused…ill be fine as long as it dosent throw hard to cause a swerve….will upgrade all things related but really hoping for something to stop the throw and make it firmer does the stabilizer really make that much of a difference though?
  6. so changed the TRE's and the steering got better but still wasn't as stable above the 100 kph and the steering still felt a little loose...found out the stabilizer was bad, so removed it to see how it go with out it till i replace, and it automatically made the steering not as hard to turn as it used to be but i feel a little shake when between 90-100... but the main problem is in egypt there is some terrible roads where theres wheels of the big trucks are marked on the road and they make tracks…that has been my upmost fear with the defender, i travelled on avg 120kph for 2 hrs with no major problem, but that 30 mins in the end with the bad road was terrifying, coz the tracks take over the car when above them and i always feel it will do like last time and swerve me, the tyres did hold their grip, but theres was still a minor throw and not as stable..when i drive this road with my audi it does also move the car but nothing close to the throw of the defender, i mean with the audi i steel feel in full control. what do i need to do to upgrade the steering system, and really make the steering grip hard and stable so i won't have this terrible experience every time I'm on the road?
  7. got a set on 265/75/16 with some black alloy wheels….car already runs so much more stable and docent swerve bad anymore…but the steering wheel is still a bit loose when around 100kph due to the TRE's, still trying to get them replaced.. can't wait to get it all ready so i can take a closer look at Egypt's desert, still worried to travel with it like this with loose steering...
  8. ^ but the indicator light for the glow plug on the dashboard would have lit up if the relay has been disconnected right? its been disconnected for a week now and it never showed n the dashboard.
  9. i took some pics…on the 3rd image you will see the wire that it was placed in, looks like some extra wire that was fitted
  10. this is the description and better pic i found online http://www.disco3.co.uk/gallery/displayimage.php?album=3778&pos=11 they say its compressor but i don't think it is. it starts fine but maybe could be the abs pump..and yes its under the passenger seat..its been disconnected for a week now, didn't try to use the heated screen so this could be it as well… will try to swap with other relay and see if it heats up again..
  11. was looking in fuse box and noticed this relay was really hot like can barely touch it hot, so i reckoned something wrong was up with it so disconnected it, then i checked and noticed that when removed it didn't affect anything in the car electrics…will hook it back again or try to replace it with a new one hopefully that will help. but I have no idea what its for
  12. specialist checked all and said all was fine except the ball joints that need to be replaced, and 60% of problem is tires... so im working on these and waiting to see...
  13. ^ yes i understand this, but i got it like that, and I didnt want to fit the new wheels and tires till i checked the other stuff first..it didn't cross my mind that the tires could be the major problem with this swerving

Im in Egypt, the car was for a safari company, they got 3 cars and didn't really end up using it as much as they thought they would, so i got to pick one and this was the finest of them, or at least it seemed to be.. so you think it all could be mainly from the dissimilar tires? i will do a whole check again and replace they tires and go from there..when i checked the car the specialist told me the car is in good condition apart from being parked for a while. hopefully i can get it to be proper and get to enjoy it since I've been constantly worried every time i drive it..
  15. i test drove it and it was fine and i didn't notice it as the road was much better and wasn't going that fast with it for while , i bought it direct from seller so not a dealer and no warranty…the car has been parked for over a year, last inspection on it was 1 yr and half and report was completely fine..it just had old tires 7.5 in front and 235 in back so i thought that was a big cause but now i realize is bigger than this... yes i stopped driving it till i fix the problem, will have to lift it and go through all these stated.. how would i go about dealing with the track adjustment, this sounds like it could be the problem for me as well….

  19. First of all id like to say Hello to everyone, I'm a new owner of a 110 2010... I got the car used with low mileage on it and in good condition, the car has something with the steering like when moving the steering left and right it has an empty area when going straight,,, i drove it on the road and when i was over 100kph ( and even on 80kph) i noticed the car was very unstable and any small change in the road would make it swerve, to the point where it swerved hard that it went out the lane and somehow it adjusted when i tried thankfully... any ideas where i should start to fix this problem? I'm worried that the car has a problem with it..as i don't think defenders could be that unstable on road. excuse my ignorance as this is my first defender.. thanks in advance
